A GENTLE, SPECIAL-PURPOSE PROGRAM

FOR DURING AND AFTER PREGNANCY or ABDOMINAL SURGERY of ANY TYPE

This program is for you if you've experienced loss of abdominal muscle tone and/or developed back pain or poor posture. These exercises develop healthy core integration.

Pregnancy (and abdominal surgery) change abdominal muscle tone, balance and movement; somatic exercises retrain muscles, movement and postural organization to a healthy, well-integrated pattern for well-balanced movement and well-coordinated musculature.

Before delivery, maintain your comfort. Have a better delivery. After delivery, recover your strength and get back your shape.

After abdominal surgery, all surgical wounds should have healed before doing these exercises.

The exercises develop better integration (strength, ability to relax, coordination) of all four abdominal muscle layers:

  • front-to-back movement: rectus abdominus
  • twisting movements: internal and external obliques
  • expansion and contraction movements: transversus abdominus
retrain and re-tone your pelvic floor (PC muscles) for freedom and responsiveness, and free your back muscles from excessive tension, so they return to a healthy length for healthy posture and movement.
