Special Program
to Free Breathing

A PROGRAM FOR FULL, FREE BREATHING

If you've been diagnosed as a "chest breather", have asthma or "stitches" (pain) in your ribs when breathing, are an athlete who wants to improve breathing capacity and performance or are someone who can't get a full breath, this program is for you.

You'll get easier, fuller breath by freeing and coordinating the muscles of breathing. Lessons address diaphragmatic breathing and rib movements of breathing.

If you have spasmodic dysphonia, you may find the download version especially helpful for smoothing and deepening your voice.

Low energy, inability to stay warm, and chronic anxiety are common problems related to breathing. They improve with free breathing -- both free inhalation and free exhalation.

Breathing exercises and momentary efforts to "breathe well" attempt to free breathing from habituated restrictions, but because they don't change automatic breathing patterns, they produce minor improvements. To change automatic breathing movements, a training process is necessary that frees habitual restrictions to breathing.

This program provides just such training addressing your front, back and sides, so that you don't need to put special attention on breathing; you just breathe well.

CONSISTS OF:

  1. Freeing the Front of the Body (diaphragmatic breathing)
  2. Breathing Expansion
  3. Locating the Center of Breathing

If you find full inhalation painful, you probably have tight back muscles, in which case you need Get Free from That Back Pain. If you have a "stitch" in your ribs, this breathing program will be of some help, but you may need private sessions (one or two) with a Hanna somatic educator who uses clinical techniques of somatic education.

Somatic Breathing Training
to Reduce Stress

A PROGRAM FOR FREEING AND STEADYING ATTENTION

Hanna Somatics Gold
by Lawrence Gold

This program is for you if you find yourself stuck in thinking, your energy depleted, and your muscles tense.

People get this program to get back some control of their mind and stress level -- to quiet and clear the mind and to recover energy trapped in stress.

You can feel better, even with no change of circumstances. Breath more relaxed, more easily, more fully.

Contains an embedded sound signal to entrain the "waking dream" alpha brainwave rhythm to help dissipate the grip of stress, to help you do the somatic exercises more deeply, and make mental room for creative problem-solving ideas to surface in the rest period afterwards.

EIGHT LESSON/SEGMENTS:

  1. Introduction
  2. Opening Your Breathing Passage
  3. Freeing Your Trunk for Easier Breathing
  4. Locating Your Epiglottis (preparatory lesson)
  5. Opening Your Core (supine)
  6. Opening Your Core (prone)
