The Gold Key Release | a More Detailed Look
to imagining something
On The Eyepieces of Perspective
In certain instructions for The Gold Key Release, the symbol, “!” appears. I call those instructions, The Eyepieces of Perspective.
The steps with, “| ! |”, seen together as one, reveal our entrancement from an unentranced perspective, as like a dream or as a mental fabrication. Let experience of The Gold Key Release reveal what I mean by “entrancement” and by “trance-ending”.
If you can’t distinguish both “remembering” and “imagining”, regard the intensity of the memory and alternate between regarding it as remembering and regarding it as imagining. Compare remembering to imagining until you awaken a perception — or the perception dissolves. Next time, spend more time in the preparatory step of distinguishing imagining from remembering.
NOTES:
If it all seems like remembering and no imagining, know that the seeming truth of remembering is imagined. We imagine that it is an actual memory with a life of its own; we imagine that it is not something we are imagining.
Put your attention on the feelings of “true” and “untrue” and deliberately imagine them. Do not analyze; do not filter for correctness. Feel. Take and work with whatever you get. Next time, do the “It’s True!”, “It’s Untrue!” step, better.
As an aid, you may vividly remember memories that make it seem, “It’s True!“and “It’s, Untrue!” Make “It’s True!” and “It’s Untrue!” counterbalance each other; alternate between them, if necessary.
UNLOCKING IDENTITY CRYSTALIZATIONS
(Got any?)
Unlocking of an identity crystallization (that’s what you’re working with) may start at any point of The Gold Key Release. Follow through to the end.
process feels like inhabiting a field of sensation, firming it up, then
telescoping perception into its core by stages. After the “imagining”
stage, the field of sensation dissolves and dissipates, leaving an
absence, or decrease, of the original item.
there is some charge or substance left of the item, alternate between,
“remembering imagining” and “imagining remembering” (“jiggling the key”)
until you get perceptions of each. If you cease to make progress,
repeat from the beginning.
Some
“locks” may be very dense, slow to change, and indistinct. They may
take a number of practice cycles before they come into focus and
dissolve or their deeper underpinnings show up and dissolve.
The Process is Complete, When . . . . .
feeling of
completion is a lack of charge, of insubstantiality, even of having
difficulty remembering what one was working on. Attention falls into a
formless condition: undefined “Hereness”, the natural state of self.
With a good outcome, you directly intuit formless “conscious Origin” — the ground of being, your “present” self-nature. When you intuit Origin, release that intuition with “Thor’s Hammer” / “The Lightening Bolt”. Notice what happens.

TetraSeed Transformations | The Gold Key Release, week 6 | The TetraSeed Empowerment Procedure
This week: The TetraSeed Empowerment Procedure
This “knock your socks-off” procedure depends upon your sufficient proficiency in The Gold Key Release. Without The Gold Key Release, you may be left attached to the outcome. For reasons explained below, such attachment is undesirable, unpleasant, and works against the intended outcome of the procedure, which is the freedom of empowerment — and the empowerment of freedom. This is not mere wordplay; feel each and feel how they complement (are not identical to) each other.
POINTS on EMPOWERMENT
- eros:
- attractors of experience
- imagination/emergence
- obstructions:
- misalignment of intention
- distortions of or by memory
Memory — our sense of how things are and can be — is inherently binding and the attractive force of one moment becomes the binding force of the next, slowing or preventing new emergence — and leads to a sense of entrapment, rather than of freedom.
For that reason, an equal and opposite tendency — dissolution — must balance emergence and memory, for empowerment to continue. Otherwise, we become disempowered by the successes of the past by getting limited and stuck by them at some time in the future when we need to outgrow or exceed them.
Empowerment: the ability to direct our attention and exercise intention in service to imagination/eros by dissolving the binding force of memory (the way things have always gone) to make room for emergence (converting imagination/eros into actuality/memory).
EXERCISE: Remember a limiting memory by imagining and intending a more desirable situation.
The bigger the obstruction overcome or dissolved, the bigger the payoff.
EXERCISE: Remember a little obstruction overcome and remember the payoff. Remember a big obstruction overcome, remember the payoff.
The TetraSeed Empowerment Procedure
In this procedure, we will discover in ourselves the conditioning influences, the remembered but subconscious intentions, that run things from “behind the scenes” to keep us stuck, as they exist in your own case.
“Items” used in the procedure and the “attractor” of each:
- honesty: ATTRACTOR: clarity
- viability: ATTRACTOR: worthiness
- responsibility: ATTRACTOR: competence
- follow-through: ATTRACTOR: results
Let’s define terms, as I mean them:
Honesty: transparency of self-presentation and transparency of self, to self.
The opposite of honesty is deception. Deception leads to misinformed actions.
Viability: ability to live
When you plant a seed, its ability to sprout and bear fruit or living seed is its viability.
Responsibility: ability to respond, freedom
Responsibility isn’t burden; it’s working capacity. To assume responsibility is to “turn on” ones capacity to act. The burdensome sense of responsibility is responsibility impaired by limitations — remembered difficulties or interference by obstructing beliefs (bad expectations). If you have such obstructions, they get cleared up in this procedure — but first you feel them, on the way out.
Follow-through: carrying through to completion
People generally have trouble with one of three stages of action: starting things, carrying them through to completion, and moving on after getting completion. Trouble with any of those stages works against empowerment.
We use The Set-Up Procedure to set up each item.
- attend to
- imagine
- intend
- remember
The Gold Key Release overcomes the binding force of memory, the obstructions. So we use The Gold Key Release after each time we do The Spell-Maker (for each item) to clear the obstructions to the ATTRACTORS, and then again, at the end of the entire procedure, to clear the binding force of those four attractors, so that we have both the ability to create each item and freedom from each item.
(THE GOLD KEY RELEASE * 4) + 1
We will be going faster. What you need to have surface will surface quickly; it will be all too obvious. If it doesn’t surface in the time given, you don’t need to deal with it at this moment — and, due to the pacing, you will find emerging in you the strong impulse to self-knowledge.
The Psycho-Active TetraSeed Transformations | Enhancing Intelligence
Developing into a “Neo-Post-Contemporary Human”?
A Neo-Post-Contemporary Human is someone fully capable of, but also capable of going beyond, both conventional (“standard operating procedure”) and unconventional (known “outside the box”) limitations of intelligence and ability — capable of going beyond the constraints of memory (“agape”) in actions of “eros” (imagination or the emergence of new-ness).
Why bother?
People’s sense of being stuck or limited in life has to do with the limitations of being a contemporary human. As Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, “You can’t solve a problem from within the state of mind that created it,” — and that state of mind is the contemporary one. A neo-post-contemporary mind is one that is beyond the contemporary state of mind — and even beyond the next (“post-contemporary”) one developing, now.
How do you get to be like that?
First, uncover, discover and transform those limitations, in yourself. That frees you to find what’s beyond them; prior to that, you’re contained within them and can’t reach beyond them. Clear the way, first.
Then, you put your newly freed intelligence-potential into action. This is not a mental action involving the difficult effort of figuring things out with your memory of what’s been done and predictions of what’s possible: it’s an unreasoned, intentional action to bring into existence something new, out of the unknown unknown. It feels like inspired action, “good ideas coming to you.”
The term I use is, “Intelligent Empowerment“.
Our free, pre-course session, on Wednesday, June 24th, 2015, was a total success. Our first step was learn about and clarify our experience of The TetraSeed, which is a name I have given to the underpinnings of our sense of existence, which underpinnings exist as a set of four faculties without all of which we can neither experience anything nor act.
Those four faculties, which constitute The TetraSeed, are attention, imagination (or emergence of newness), intention, and memory. I call the procedure we use to clarify our experience and knowledge of The TetraSeed’s components, which procedure is surprisingly brief and potent, The Set-Up. The Set-Up is a way to sharpen your own intelligence (in a way that’s obvious and self-validating or self-authenticating).
In that same, pre-course session, I took people through The Gold Key Release, which is based upon The TetraSeed, and then taught a simplified version of The Spell-Maker, a procedure that enables you to create an intentional focus that leads to whichever kind of experience you intend, at the time that you are doing The Spell-Maker.
Results are telling. If you were present for our free, pre-course session, if you did The Spell-Maker sufficiently well, you felt a shift in yourself in which you felt the quality of your desired experience as if it were presently happening. If you did The Spell-Maker for a particular kind of experience and then it later happened or an uncharacteristic change occurred — and you remembered that you ran The Spell-Maker on that item, you’ll have suddenly recognized the causal relationship between The Spell-Maker and the experience and be tempted to test The Spell-Maker some more, with continued experimentation.

Intelligent Empowerment 101
Our first course, Intelligent Empowerment 101, consists of seven twice-weekly sessions of about one hour, scheduled to start the third week of July (date to be announced – “TBA”). One session will be to learn and practice each exercise and one session three days later, for feedback and Q&A.
Then, in subsequent sessions, I will teach and you will learn The Gold Key Release, a much more powerful procedure than The Set-Up (powerful in its own right). I will work one-on-one with one or more individuals in the Google Hangout environment; others present will be able to run the procedure in their private settings.
In subsequent sessions of Intelligent Empowerment 101, we will apply The Gold Key Release to:
- attention
- imagination (newness or emergence)
- intention
- memory
- desire
- resistance
Intelligent Empowerment 102
Expanding Your Power Using The Gold Key Release
This eight-week “luminar” exists for you to apply The Gold Key Release to items or issues of your own choosing in a group setting similar to that of Intelligent Empowerment 101, with access to me for coaching and Q&A, live.
We will be choosing increasingly large-scale items to clear up. The items you choose to address will fall into four categories:
- egocentric: having to do with your own personal wants and needs
- ethnocentric: having to do with the wants and needs of any specific group of which you are a part
- world-centric: having to do with issues affecting the whole world, at large
- kosmo-centric: having to do with the larger issues of life and the underpinnings of your existence
These sessions will get you used to addressing larger-scope issues on
your own. You’ll practice on two items or issues at each level, for
experience. Each larger-scope level is more potent than the last in
producing changes in you that you feel, then and there. The larger-scope
levels require basic familiarity and at least beginning proficiency in the Gold Key Release 101, and so the pre-requisite.
I will provide a number of working suggestions which, as you implement The Gold Key Release at increasingly larger-scale levels, will enable to you to put The Gold Key Release to increasingly good use to clean up your own life and do world-service — and prepare you for the next module of training.
I will provide a number of techniques (including The Tongue Mudra) that, as you implement them, further enable to you to put The Gold Key Release to increasingly good use — and will prepare you for the next module of training, Intelligent Empowerment 1A, The Wish-Fulfilling Gem.
You need to be proficient in The Gold Key Release to do The Wish-Fulfilling Gem, so Intelligent Empowerment 101 is a pre-requisite for Intelligent Empowerment 1A.
Whereas The Gold-Key Release is a “liberation” procedure that provides relief and subliminally sets you up for spontaneous new behaviors in previously stuck situations, The Wish-Fulfilling Gem is a “transformative wisdom” procedure that reveals and removes multiple hidden interferences and puts you into a more balanced relationship to your desired outcome; it opens the way for more possibilities for fulfillment or satisfaction than you may have anticipated. You’ll surprise yourself (from personal experience).
Intelligent Empowerment 1A
In Intelligent Empowerment 1A, I will teach and guide you through The Wish-Fulfilling Gem, a “transformative wisdom” procedure that does what the name implies — tempers wishes with self-validating wisdom, so that you are informed by wisdom, rather than merely being compelled by desire or need. Read more about The Wish-Fulfilling Gem, here.
Intelligent Empowerment 1A consists of seven weeks of twice-weekly sessions of about one hour, scheduled to start two weeks after the end of Intelligent Empowerment 102.
In the first session, I will guide you through “forging your basic tool” — the four faculties of The TetraSeed. There is increasing depth available in those faculties, as you will discover, so it’s worth revisiting The Set-Up and getting accustomed to using it, particularly before addressing difficult or more deeply entrenched issues. Although not required, it is “helpful.”
Then, I will teach and you will practice The Wish-Fulfilling Gem.
You will apply The Wish-Fulfilling Gem to egocentric, ethnocentric, world-centric, and kosmo-centric scales of experience.
Those sessions will establish you in the ground of being of wisdom that will inform your application of The Wish-Fulfilling Gem for the future — not by limiting you, but by arming you with intuitive wisdom-understanding, freeing you from hidden limitations and biases that put a twist into your manifestation abilities.
This part of the course will be an experiment to learn what may be the larger, unanticipated effects of introducing changes into the collectively-shared morphogenetic (“morphic” or “probability”) field in which we are all embedded and which forms the collective atmosphere for thought, emotion, and possibility.
Intelligent Empowerment 1B
In Intelligent Empowerment 1B, I will teach and guide you through The Spell-Maker (“The Phaser”) and The Spell-Breaker (“The Neutralizer”) — (together, nicknamed, The Cyclotron because they cycle in opposite directions, relative to each other).
Intelligent Empowerment 1B consists of seven weeks of twice-weekly sessions (teaching/practice, feedback/Q&A) of one hour, scheduled to start two weeks after the end of Intelligent Empowerment 1A.
The Spell-Maker — in the ripened or more developed form taught here — is a very potent procedure for bringing us to a perception of how an experience would feel, if it happened and for setting the stage for it to happen. In the process, we pass through everything that’s in the way (including unreadiness) and bring into maturity undeveloped intentions needed for the manifestation.
The Spell-Breaker is a potent procedure for dismantling or dissolving a “spell” activated in The Spell-Maker, should you decide it’s in your interest to do so. It’s also useful for dissolving the effects of apparently “outside” influences upon you (e.g., people or emotions like shame).
Then, I will teach and you will practice The Spell-Breaker.
You will apply The Spell-Breaker to egocentric, ethnocentric, world-centric, and kosmo-centric scales of experience.
After some practice, to the point of having the experience of this procedure that I have described, I will teach and you will learn The Spell-Maker.
This part of the course will be also an experiment to learn what larger effects we can introduce into the world-process through the collectively-shared morphogenetic (“morphic” or “probability”) field in which we are all embedded and which forms the “non-local”, collective atmosphere for thought, emotion, and possibility.
Intelligent Self-Empowerment
Level 2
As you get increasingly proficient, your next desire will probably be to simplify. Would you like to know some very brief, intuitive procedures for creating and dissolving experiences at a moment’s notice?
Those would be, The Thunderclap and The Lightning Bolt, short, short procedures for dissolving and for creating the TetraSeeds of experiences.
The same seven-week format applies as before.
As these procedures are very simple and brief, they require a degree of mastery to perform. You will likely find them very handy, when you encounter sticky or difficult moments in the previous procedures, to keep things moving. I use them for that purpose.
Intelligent Self-Empowerment
Level 3
In this seven-week module, I teach the “King Kong” of TetraSeed Modulations, The Middle-Way Memory-Matrix Ritual, which incorporates most of the preceding procedures, every time, and allows you to insert others into the procedure at your skillful discretion, as you see the need.
Larger scale, deeply entrenched, “story of my life” conditioning, or conditioning that just refuses to yield to the earlier procedures, typically has both a visible and an invisible component, We identify with one side of the situation but have no clue how the other side applies to us. You’ve got to handle both.
The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual (or “The Memory-Matrix Ritual”) is a self-revelatory, self-liberating procedure that discloses the invisible, deeply-entrenched, and crusty components that may have been implanted in us by trauma, bad upbringing, or the general social insanity characteristic of this world, Earth. It allows you to re-write (or “edit”) “The Book of You”.
You want to transform major themes and far-reaching happenings of your life? This is your tool.
We’ll be doing individual coaching and group coaching.
If you desire it, we can schedule private, one-on-one sessions.
The Layers of Somatic Education
The practice of somatic education arrives at a number of “layers” of habituation.
When used as a supportive adjunct to clinical sessions involving pandiculation, somatic education exercises serve to reinforce the changes of that session, which has entailed disappearance of patterns of habituation (or dis-intensification/relaxation of memory). In that case, the way has been cleared ahead of time for that new patterning.
When used by themselves, however, somatic education exercises must accomplish both the disappearance of old patterns and the emrgence or development of new patterns.
In that case, the first patterns to go are those that are obsolete remainders of previous adaptations — injuries that have healed, emotionally traumatic situations that are long past, conditioning from family life or exposure to institutions with a “culture” (e.g., “corporate culture”, “military culture”). All of these, because they are not actively called for and actively used in daily life, are subject to easier release. They are not being reinforcced by use, but only persist by memory’s tendency to persist.
The next patterns to go are those that now surface. Those patterns are patterns we enact in daily life — including our mood and attitude of approach to somatic “clean-up”. Let me make that point more vividly: The sense of self that is doing “clean-up” comes from a habituated and remembered entire characer that may or may not yet have been subject to exposure and conscious integration.
If not yet integrated, it is “the one” doing the clean-up, and as such, its own pattern is never subject to clean-up; it’s always “behind the scenes”.
So, the person tends first to lose the obsolete remainders and then to reinforce, more and more, the mood and attitude of approach (or remembered way of being in the world’s situations) characteristic of the daily self. That means that there are “areas” of S-MA that are untouched and seemingly untouchable, and actually, we find, of which we are almost entirely unconscious — but which others may recognize.
To get at that next layer of habituations, we need to take another angle of approach.
That approach is, on the basis of attention freed up by releasing obsolete remainders, to notice, to catch ourselves at it, in the patterns we live on a daily basis. Since the second layer consists of all the attitudes and moments of reaction of our daily self, to notice those patterns gives us access to the layer of “self” that is doing the clean-up.
Generally, that layer of self consists of emotional tendencies, attitudes, and self-talk by which we activate ourself in life — rather than merely reflexive after-patterns from injury or long-term stress, which are primitive kinds of reactivity — typically called, S-MA. For that second layer of self, another term is appropriate: A-IA: attentional-intentional amnesia.
As such, these patterns must be addressed on their own terms and in their own “language” — the language of feeling, the language of “I” and of “I’s” meaningful terms.
It involves not merely a psychological process of analysis, which is but a start; it involves distinguishing those patterns in terms of the four basic facets of somatic existence: attention, imagination, intention, and memory — or attending, imagining, intending, and remembering.
There exist specific procedures that use all four of those four facets at once to develop or recover conscious integration of those daily patterns. I present those in detail, elsewhere, in usable form. Ask.
What happens in integration is that the grip of a “daily pattern” that “has” us suddenly loosens and softens, and as that happens, somatic changes occur that might be interpreted as neuro-muscular or sensory-motor, but which are actualy attentional and intentional; we feel our old postural set and we feel how we could be to feel more “ourselves.” Our memory set changes, and with that change, our personal quality in the world also changes. We experience the world differently and the world experiences us differently. The old “daily pattern” no longer “has” us, no longer automatically springs into action when circumstances might before have triggered it. A freer response allows for a more spontaneously and more finely tuned, even more ingenious, response.
In the process of dissolving the second layer, we touch repeatedly into what is “beneath” or what pervades that second layer (and also, the first, residual layer); that “what is beneath or pervades” is a kind of formless, impartially present, conscious space. It is not seen, in itself, to be of any particular quality — other than a kind of radiant presence — and it’s “felt” radiant, not seen radiant. It could be termed, “self-existing”, since it has no particular quality and there is nothing in evidence to be creating it as an effect of something else. It is continuous with and gives rise to all things particular. It is their substance. They are a play upon or play of it. It is our experience of “now”.
Memory stores the impressions of its shape-shifting and so gives it the sense of duration in time. Attention gets absorbed in it. Imagination anticipates its developments, guided by memory, more or less. And intention reacts to all of that and proels our movement.
Such is the second layer: the deeper layer that persists after somatic education exercises have done what they can in the hands of the “daily self”; and touchings into the intuition of the free, undefined (infinite) condition.
So, the second layer of de-habituation consists of a differently shaped, differently organized, differently responsive self-pattern. But it’s still a habituated self-pattern, a pattern of A-IA, attentional-intentional amnesia. Coming out of it reveals something unexpected.
A third development.
That third development consists of integration of the second layer, “daily self”; what we integrate of ourselves ceases to be an “it” to us; it ceases to have any weight, to us, any mass, or so little as to be negligible. Those patterns, before, unconscious and running the show, have been made conscious, lost their automaticity, lost their sense of grip and become more freely available for spontaneous, more subtly fitting responsiveness without a sense of “hard self”. They have been both streamlined and freed from internal conflict, so they are “tuned to the harmonic of the formless ground of being” and simultaneously express their responsiveness to conditions and communicate the formless ground from which they emerge and of which they are actually made.
One term for this is “Wei Wu Wei” or spontaneous right action. Another term is “The Fair State” — although that kind of fairness is not an opinion; it’s an experience of action experienced as “no action” — and if it’s a state, it’s a state of flow. It’s the foot dipping into the pond without a ripple, unless the dipper wants to make a ripple. The conceptual mind cannot grasp that kind of functioning, but that kind of functioning is recognizable in the instant of its happening, by feel. It draws observers into its own state (or drives them off as an insult to their habituation).
Thus, somatic education first dissolves the residues of obsolete memory, then dissolves the current “do-er” of all things, then itself dissolves to reveal the paradox of embodiment: that our lives emerge from and exist in the continuity of all existence, that before, our habituation and all our efforts did obscure.
On Fibromyalgia and Full-Spectrum Somatic Education

the reptilian brain (brain stem).
forms with the onslaught of experience — individual, cultural,
species, and planetary memory — and “befouls” (as well as constitutes)
the memories and functional capacities of the individual. “Birth Trauma”
is better framed as “Life Trauma” — meaning compounded forms of Trauma
Reflex. The onslaught of experience is like gravity — an ongoing
influence that endlessly “tests” our balance and fluidity.
Fair State” of which Thomas Hanna wrote is an ideal, asymptotically
approached (but never reached), in which responses are increasingly
free, creative, and finely tuned and in which attention is increasingly
discerning and accurate — both toward “the world” (3d and 2nd person)
and toward ourselves (1st person) — and leading to transpersonal
awakening (“0″th person).
a life may be seen as a struggle to overcome the onslaught of
experience, which drives us, again and again, to lower levels of
function — lower levels of brain function (below the neocortex). By
“rebound” (refusal of limitation), we may awaken at the neocortical
level and creatively develop means to exceed those limitations, leading
to new habit formation and subsidence of the higher cortical functions.
humans alternately awaken to our higher potential and then sink to
lower levels and then, in conditions of crisis, rise again. Such
accounts for the rise and fall of civilizations (including our own).
(That’s why people have trouble following instructions.)
amnesia” describes the more complex forms of habituation — emotion,
conceptualization/cognition — observable 3d-person as habits of action
and interiorly-feelable pattens of tension identified (mistakenly or
only provisionally) as, “self” — sometimes clinically diagnosed as,
“fibromyalgia” and usually, as “ageing”.
obliviousness” describes the more complex forms of incompetence or
immaturity identified (mistakenly or only provisionally) as, “self”.
up all of these forms of befoulment or incompetence is the proper scope
of somatic education — escape from the sense of the gravity of life
and the accelerated awakening of and to our own unrealized potentials.

A word in advance:
This entry contains instructions for procedures that, due to their simplicity, are advanced practices. Known collectively as, The Vacuum Cleaner for Your Mind, they require sufficient control of your attention muscle to do them. Without that adequate control, some may find that their thinking-word mind is producing too much noise — noisier even, than The Vacuum Cleaner for Your Mind — impossible for some, for now.
The key for those with “noisy mind” and “weak attention muscle” is practice of The Gold Key Release and The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual.
In this entry, I present two procedures — The Lightning Bolt and The Thunderclap (“Flashing the Unknown Unknown”), that, when combined, provide a quick, nearly-instant way to disarm and dissolve grips seemingly held upon us held by unconscious habits of self-contraction and distress, so they can be sucked out of your mind, right then. Mental quiet ensues.

maneuver for surfacing and dissolving hidden grips that keep us buried
in the momentum of our habitual lives, confused and stuck — but . . . .
. hopeful !!! above all, hopeful !!! Another term for that is “dukkha”. It’s a “one foot on the accelerator, one foot on the brake” situation.
hidden grips show up as patterns tendency for things to go a certain way, of behavior habits and characteristic personal experiences
that are recognizable in a person, that have a feel to
them that are part of the person’s sense of self, their presence, their way of harmony in life, more or less, their personal quality and the habits by which people recognize
them.
hidden grips show up as the chronic issues and ongoing complaints of a
person’s existence; perhaps unexpectedly, they also show up as the
virtues they uphold. They are the programs of a person’s existence, a
body of unfathomably deep-seated, totally unconscious tension sets (on
your mark, get set . . . . . ) maintained perpetually on automatic: all
kinds of memory conditioning, residual influences, sensations that are
below where attention ordinarily reaches in ourselves, unless flushed up enough to be recognized.
When flushed up, are
seen to major distortions in oneself in the form of, “How it the
world did I get that way??” But before that, it is generally something
unrecognized that we do and experience again and again, and again.
Such an experience, as and however remembered, can be “blitzed” by The Lightning Bolt or shattered by The Hammer of Thor
— to dissolve away the part or aspect of that behavior pattern that we
confuse with the basic reality of life and so believe is unavoidable.
We may artfully use The Lightning Bolt and The Gold Key Release, alternately, to good effect; one does “clean-up” after the other.
We
confuse conditional reality with our fundamental sense of
ever-hereness, which IS reality; we confuse (mentally fuse) conditional
reality with Eternal EVER-HERENESS — and the sign of this confusion is
the feeling that things will never change (which is how it feels,
whatever we may think). This confusion of EVER-HERENESS with memory
gives memory an air of permanence, even while it’s temporary.
BACKGROUND: Ever-Here-ness and Conditional Reality
EVER-HERENESS
doesn’t change — and it ain’t nuthin’ in particular. It “always
already IS”. However, for these words to make sense, you must have
awakened to the intuition of, “that which has been the same all my life”
— which is not an object of attention (inner or outer), nor anything that can be intended, remembered or imagined.
It’s what The
Buddha called, “a tacit intuition”.
Practice of The Gold Key Release
dissolves the sense of “something-ness”, so that we may intuit our
formless presence, which, in that moment of intuition, we recognize as
having always been.
When we catch that we are
considering “EVER-HERENESS” to be “something we can identify”, WE
RECOGNIZE THE FALLACY OF IT because EVER-HERENESS is not a product of
mind or an object of mind. It is of an order completely other than mind;
it is “formless feeling”, a kind of feeling that dissolves attention so we come to rest in a natural way as “consciousness without an object”. At that moment of recognition,
we may release what we have mis-identified as EVER-HERENESS,” and intuit
the field of radiant awareness that underlies everything and pervades
us, ourselves.
Contrary to everything we have thought or have heard, Reality is unknown by us, unknown to us — not a form of knowledge, at all, but ineffable experience that cannot be reduced to comprehension. Reality cannot be defined.
The reason The Lightening Bolt
works is that our habitual states are always forms of definition or
limited conditioning, whereas Reality is inherently formless. When we
let go of our sense of Reality, we are not letting go of Reality, but of conditioning mis-identified as Reality, but which we have held onto as if it were Reality.
we may think we are releasing the effort to intuit, identify, or locate
Reality (our Here-ness), when what we are really releasing an effort
that keeps us stuck in our conditioning, which, as I said, we confuse
with “Here-ness”. When we release the effort to intuit “Here-ness”
(or “Now-ness”, or “Reality”), we release the force of our conditioning
along with it. What’s left is the intuition of formless Reality.
way to intuit Reality, or Here-ness, or “The Now”, is to let go of it
and any effort to intuit it. Then, something entirely unexpected
flashes forward or the way clears into it. Beyond these words, nothing
useful may be said.
-
In your memory, fully experience whatever
experience you would like to dissolve, whether a negative condition, an
ideal that you recognize compulsively limits you, or any arbitrary thing
you might like to change.The steps are:
1. Feel its existence. [advanced:] Intend its existence. (one breath)
2. Feel its persistence. [advanced:] Remember its persistence. (one breath)
3. Feel its location. [advanced:] Attend to its location, as felt or experienced. (one breath)
4. Feel its direction (where it’s going). [advanced:] Imagine its direction. It’s a kind of opening-to (one breath)Do not think, ruminate about, or analyze it; that’s not experiencing. Steady your attention on each step long enough for it to stabilize; you’ll get an experience.
You do the advanced forms once you easily remember the basic steps.
-
Feel it all as a single intensity.
- Notice what is not that. Feel until your
attention steadies a bit. Relax into it. Let yourself lose track of that shape.(If
you can’t let yourself lose track and feel outside the shape, notice
what constrains you — some tension or holding on. Feel that and continue.) - Now, switch to noticing your sense of “Here-ness” — that which has always been the same, all your life.
ALTERNATELY: Feel your whole body as the shape of a sensation.
- Notice what you do to locate, “Here-ness”.
The action feels like “centering”. It’s the target of the lightening-strike.ALTERNATELY: Hold the sensation, draw and release three breaths.
- Recognize that sensation as a temporary, stressful effort. Stop holding onto it. Let it go. Lose track of it.
You
have felt the experience as it is, diffused your attention as much as
you can, and then located and struck at the center of your sense of “persistent reality” and then dissolved it — hence the name, The Lightning Bolt. Imagine a little puff of smoke where your sense of reality used to be. Just kidding.
The Hammer of Thor
The Hammer of Thor uses the power of intention to undo the effects of conditioning. It reveals how our own intention, running on automatic, keeps that conditioning in existence, and relieves us of that condition either in big chunks or, in the case of extremely dense conditioning, layer by layer.
The structure of The Hammer of Thor is as follows:
Locate and identify the feeling of the condition or conditioning you want to pulverize and dissipate. This step is similar to the equivalent steps in the other procedures presented on this page. You may use variations of this step found in other procedures. Use what works well, for you.
With that feeling-attention, follow these steps:
Think to yourself, with intent to experience it:
- Intending
- Intending
- Intending intending
- Intending [the condition or conditioning].
- Feel for and release your intention about it.
The Thunderclap / (a-Rumblin’ in the Canyon)
have a certain momentum to them, maintained by our memories of them.
Those memories occupy the space in which we would like to put a new
experience, so we have to remove them to make space.
The Thunderclap consists of two parts.
- By
alternating between remembering our current experience and imagining our desired experience,
we loosen the grip and dissolve the density of the current experience.
That action is the part of the “Thunderclap” that creates the needed space. - In the space created, we attend to and intend our desired experience.
That “attending” and “intending” is a new reverberation in the world.
- Identify an experience you would like to have.
- Call up whatever you may remember about it.
- Imagine the possibility.
- Return to your memory of it.
You will notice that your memories color your sense of possibility.
- Imagine how it all might change.
- Remember how it all might change.
- Imagine how it all might change.
-
Identify
- Remember
- Imagine
-
Remember
- Imagine
- Remember
-
Imagine
- Intend.
Transcendental Pervasion
All experience arises within and from the Unknown Unknown. We arise from and within the Unknown Unknown.
The Unknown Unknown may be intuited by noticing the totality of
- what we see in this moment — and what is beyond it
- what we hear in this moment — and the silence beyond it
- what we feel in this moment — and what is beyond all that
This is not a thinking process (other than to get us started); it’s a sensing process (possible only when your ability to pay attention to something is stronger than your attraction to thinking).
A verse by Lao Tzu, found in The Tao Teh Ching, “points to” the Unknown Unknown:
- Identify your “item” (conditioning).
- Feel its location in you, its shape and intensity.
- Switch: Feel it and all what is beyond it (radiationally outwardly) toward the space that contains it all.
- You cannot feel that space because it’s the Unknown Unknown; what you can feel is your inability to locate it.
- Return to your item in the intuition of “inability to locate it”. Bring that intuition toward your item.
At first, you may not be able to locate your item, same as you couldn’t locate the Unknown Unknown.
When your item reappears to your noticing, notice that it is a location of density within the Unknown Unknown, which pervades it.
- Feel the contrast between the density of your item and the lack of density of the Unknown Unknown.
- Stay with it until your item starts to lose its cohesiveness, to dissolve and dissipate.

SOMATOLOGY | The Ultimate Structure of All Senses of Identity
P S Y C H O A C T I V E

TO DISSOLVE THE HIDDEN GRIP OF AFFLICTION
— You’re the horse. | You’re the trainer. —
Finding Ourselves Out
thing: I should know about what I’m talking about. I’m an expert on
identity formation, as I’ve been running and reforming this identity for
years. One of these days, somebody’s going to find me out and we’ll
all end up in show-biz.
show-biz, to the degree that an actor/ess is free within
his/her identity set and free to change, to that degree he or she can
play different roles well.
means that our identity changes (more or less), from moment to moment,
and in the circumstances of the moment, as we resonate with our circumstances.
one thing that persists in some way is
the vague idea of “self” — the one to whom this identity purportedly
belongs. People rarely talk about that one! (It’s our ‘sacred cow’
self — the one “outside it all” and viewing it all, the one who
ostensibly never becomes hamburger, supra-Kosmic or otherwise.)
and now, a very important disclaimer:
political flip-flopper
who uses the word, “fight”, instead of “create”
whose primary interest is
to get rich and avoid getting into trouble
to avoid any kind of crisis, lest he flub his response
he, in a position of visibility,
who fears to look like an incompetent
— or worse — have to face consequences.
Maybe it’s what makes him a schlimazl
for whom nothing good ever seems to happen
since he can’t marshal all the forces needed
to make it happen.
or makes him a shlemiele
(closely related to a no-account fool)
not good at much of anything,
fallen back into being a good-for-nothing freeloader,
an imbiber by days
and something of a hapless dimwit at twilight
walking into lampposts
a person who’s a total loss
uneducated
unperceptive
incomprehending
wrong and insistent.
or its sillier version, shmegeggie
a nudnick (Pest!)
NO! This is a smart person!a wonderful person!He cleans up after himself.He picks up his clothes.He can read.
He’s nice.He’s also a clever person, having learned a thing or two.He knows the difference between“flip” and “flop”knows when it’s OK to be flip
and knows when his flippancy has flopped.Oh, most unflappable one,
I see you keep your equilibrium pretty well —— most of the time.
You are intelligently mindful of how we are unavoidably
affected by each other
and inextricably interconnected,
with everything unified in the present moment,
not as an idea or ideal, but as a perception
of how things actually are,feeling and observing how we are affected by this moment
in a resonant and moving equilibrium
continuous in moment to moment experience
participating and yet mystified,
faithful in nothing in this life made of change,
in which the currents of our own existence
carry murky, turbulent memories that shape and color our times.You sound like a wise man (or woman).
How did that happen?
~~~~~~~~~~
So, when I speak of
identity, I’m not speaking of socialization or role. I’m speaking of
something much more fundamental, something that explains human behavior,
how we get stuck in behavior, and how we may deliberately grow or evolve through an “unhooking” or “unlocking” process.
Four steps are involved in identity formation:
- experience: the emergence of the “present” from the unknown: self,
others and things, the momentary and total condition of “now” | Without
the gathering and coalescing of attention and aggregations of memory,
experience is void, without meaning, without significance, without
object, just movements of the unknown - memory : persistence of experience, the experience of “now”
(immediate memory), meaning, recognizable events, holding on to
experience and experiences, having experience “be in your face” - identification: choosing to stick with a certain experience at any
moment : assigning importance, assuming memory (persistence) is reality :
taking remembered experiences of self as self and our perception of other things as “the way they really are.” (The Myth of Actuality = “The Myth of the Given”) - perpetuation: intending, inviting, seeking to make more, or
refusing, seeking to make less, all motivation, all “go”, all “stop”,
all spin, all involvement with, all imagining
(“the One” multiplied by becoming “the Many”)
consists of our experience of our situation and our sense of
ourselves. Most of this sense of experience is submerged in subconsciousness. But we
experience it every time we meet a new person and visit a new place.
It’s our first impression — which fades with familiarity, into the
background.
(yes, I wrote that rightly). Our first impression is of “unknown”.
Gradually, with enough time and enough exposure, “unknown” fades-in into
“something known” — a memory is formed. Until a sufficiently vivid
memory is formed, no experience is being had.
actual experience, so we can more easily focus on experiences that have
that pattern, and look for what’s changing, moving, happening. It’s beginning from a presumed base of knowledge.
the experience of the moment is seen always in terms of existing
memories, which grow in a moving, changing pattern. The growing edge of
memory
is experiencing what is emerging out of the unknown, clothing it in
imagination so it may seem known, then forming memories and bridging
them with other memories. Impressions form over
time about the “realities” of life, colored by memories brought to life
by imagination, imagination informed by memory and going beyond.
form our memories from our experiences of the moving moment of life,
the changing harmonics of life. All sensory impressions that go into
memory refer
to movements and harmonics of life, memories of persons, places and
things. Our memories of “the movements and harmonics of life” flavor or
dress up all
of our sense-impressions of the moment.
“a movement and a felt harmonic” gets called up every time we recall something and every
time we put ourselves in a situation to experience anything familiar. Memory creates expectation.
the degree that something feels, “in your face”, that’s the degree that
you take it for truth, for reality, or as self. That’s how solidly set
your / my attention is in memory, how solidly fixated, how ingrained, how entranced. That’s how much experience has “got us” by the ….. (ooch!) .
and resistance (or intending and refusing) are two forms of the same thing: one is “wanting to
make it more” and the other is “wanting to make it less”; the difference,
only one of direction; both are “wanting”.
something, they want (to some degree — strongly or mildly) either to
reinforce/assert their knowledge or to minimize/deny it. They want to
rely upon it or they want to forbid it. Either way, they want to do
that for themselves, for their own sake.
a person has an attitude, they want to impose it upon the world. (Even
the idea of “not wanting to impose it on the world” is an attitude.)
the activity of identity, of self-propagation, the genetic imperative
that distinguishes itself from others on the basis of memories.
experience
Jimmy has never been to a baseball game.His father comes home with tickets to see the Cardinals.
They go on a Saturday.
At the ballpark, Jimmy takes it all in, eyes open wide.
Dizzy Dean is pitching.
He winds up. There’s the pitch.
Foul ball. Into the stands.
Jimmy catches the ball.
memories
Now, Jimmy has a story to tell the guys in the neighborhood.What does that do for his social status?
Jimmy likes the attention. He brings the ball to school, he tells the story at Sunday School, around …
The more Jimmy tells the story,
the more he reinforces the memory of it
and his place in it.assuming memories are truth, reality, or self
Jimmy takes credit for catching the foul ball,
lays claim to special status, reason for pride.
casts himself into a self-image that he takes for himself
and shows around.perpetuating what we remember as extended forms of “self”
Soon, Jimmy is a fan.He’s read up on Dizzy Dean, knows his statistics,
roots for the Cardinals,
feels the glory when they win
feels the humiliation when they lose.He’s even gotten into a couple of fights over it.
He can’t help himself.
But then, he’s only ten.That was a long, long time ago.
Now, Jimmy’s a Republican.
Goes to war. It’s his patriotic duty.
He’s sent to the front. Wounded.
Now he has a limp. And a medal.He’s honorably discharged and sent home. He gets special recognition, special privileges. (This was an earlier time.)
He’s sent to an innovative form of therapy that promises he can walk, again. In fact, he’ll lose the limp.
But
now, George doesn’t know “who he’d be” without his war wound. He’d
seem ordinary. He also can’t imagine walking normally, again. He’s
forgotton his “pre-army” state. His wound and his status as a wounded
war vet, based in memory and the seeming permanence of his wound, have
made him into something else.The therapy doesn’t work.
He gets into politics. Eventually, he runs for political office.
Now,
he gets some mileage out of being a wounded war vet. His wound is his
badge of courage. He cherishes the identity of “War Vet”, keeps it
low-key on the campaign trail. He imagines that it is some of the basis
of the respect with which people treat him, that it’s a “trump card”:
On certain topics, no one dares challenge his position.And, of course, years later, he’s a Republican.
identity is a standpoint with general ways of operating based on
memories of experience, a standpoint that wants to reinforce (or
perpetuate) its way of operating in the world.
we know, we want to continue to be “right knowledge”. That’s why
people dislike “being wrong” and why “being made wrong” is such a
politically incorrect social impropriety. It’s about what “wanting to be
right” means — not having to change (to change is work!).
first we experience something. And then, as we experience it, we
remember it. Then, we assume that memory represents and actually says
something reliable about either oneself or something or someone other.
We carry all the accumulated memory patterns that form out of the
interaction of the world with our memoried self. We act as if life
exists in terms of those memory patterns — and so act accordingly —
either to perpetuate and reinforce or to refuse or counteract.
explains how we form behavior patterns, how we get stuck in behavior
patterns (egotism, arrogance, “anything goes” or cold-fish authoritarianism), and also how we
learn to grow and evolve. It’s a spooky business.
as we form innumerable memories from moment to moment, we form
innumerable identities for each moment — and hopefully they’re all well
interconnected, so we don’t get trapped in one (dissociated identity state).
answer is, to reverse the process. What would happen for Jimmy if he
imagined himself going back up the chain of identity formation?
“Vizier” is Arabic for “wise guy“.)
“Somatic Awakening” is not an “awakening to” something. It’s an awakening as something and then an awakening from it.
It’s “awakening as” what one most ordinarily IS,
scanning and observing it with attentiveness,
feeling it, inhabiting it,
enfolding it,
assessing its “charge”: how one feels implicated (entangled)
in the force of memory,
detecting the imagination of memory,
then awakening from imagining,
releasing the sense of “something there”, feeling it dissolve into the formless field of attention, as no-self, original self, more familiar than breathing
There. That. Which is Here.
It’s going backward through
the stages of priority (“that which came before”)
“upstream” of the creative process,
to
awaken, undefined, as self-source — the Natural State, the awakening of which feels like A Big, Divine Kosmic Kiss, which we may symbolize
by the word,
“mmmmWAH!!!”
which is also what it feels like, as we dissolve into the undefined Condition.
- He feels his position, attitude, standpoint, or whatever he is stuck
with or is perpetuating — his knowledge, his chosen identity, his
refuge in the immunity of “rightness”.Whatever it is, it’s a sensation,
felt bodily, with a location, size, shape, and intensity in the overall
body-sense (kinesthetic body, subtle body, etheric body, dream body — whatever the name).
Feel each term. Pretty similar, huh?It may occur to him that he
may have “bought in to something” — assigning the status of “reality”
to his memory-shaped-colored perspective in the world: “the truth” or
“The Truth”, “oneself” or “the Self”.It may occur to him that, that
he does not “have” it, but that it “has” him — that he lives “inside” it
and is subject to its limitations, which he takes as Reality and not a product of his way of remembering and seeing things — his perspective. To him, it’s solid, real, and consequential. The mood
is, “This is real.” or “This matters” (to a greater or lesser
degree– but note: If something makes a difference to you, you’ve bought
into it and it has you.) - He feels how much of this sense of “solid truth” or “things
mattering with consequences” feels like memory and how much of memory
feels like imagination. It’s a “feel” thing, not an “answer” that he
comes up with. He traces the feeling from the sense of solid truth to
memory to imagination.He imagines, moment to moment, that a scenario — of which he is a part — is developing and he has expectations — informed, in part, by
memory, and his perceptions are shaped and biased by memory. - Remembering is re-imagining something into our experience. The
seeming persistence, the solidity or reality of anything you can put
your attention upon is memory. Memory fades unless refreshed by
imagining. The denser the memory, the more persistent it is.The way we do it:
We put attention on the feeling of having some experience.We sense the feeling of experience without words,
as a sensation someplace within us
We feel its size, shape, intensity.We pump up our ability to sense our somatic state
with “attention maneuvers”.We sense how much (not “what”) intention we have toward it
We notice how steadying attention solidifies intention.We feel the whole package as a single, contained force:
the thing we are experiencing
and our intention toward it made solid by attention.
How intention*attention = memory.Now, we feel how much it matters
in order to bring ourselves into the picture
and acknowledge how much we are involved.
How much it matters has to do with our relation to the world.
Observe it, when you get around to doing a Gold Key Release.We may then own the intensity of the memory
even if we don’t know or understand when the memory is
and we may sift that intensity
to find the feeling of imagining.We
feel how much it feels like “solid reality”, how much feels like
memory, and how much of the memory feels a bit like imagining (or as we
like to say, “daydreaming” or “being entranced”).We feel
“remembering” and “imagining” and alternate between them until we can
zero in on each equally steadily and equally easily, and so can balance
them. What makes it easier to alternate more to one side than the other
is that we are more entranced by it. These words make sense with
experience, but perhaps not before. Save yourself the brain-fog;
instead of “trying to figure it out”, just do it (at least once).If you
have trouble with this step, deliberately remember something. Feel
what remembering feels like. Then imagine something. Feel what
imagining feels like.Now apply those distinctions to your sense of “solid truth”.
- Feel the dissolution of his “fix” (or fixation) — the thing he has
been perpetuating — as his discovery or sense of “how much of it is
imagination” is “the little valve” through which the “air” that has
inflated his sense of “solid truth” (and ego) escapes. Simpler if he
just does Step 3. (Imagination is easier to let go than “solid truth”.) - He takes a breath, lets go of the imagining, and falls toward (or into) his identity-less,
natural state, at least for the moment. (Don’t do this while driving or
try to understand this by reading it. Do the procedure. Do it well at
least once.) - He checks the remaining intensity of the feeling. If anything is left, he starts at Step 1.
From here, we go to the first “magical” process for decrystallizing crystallized identity patterns:
Psycho-Active TetraSeed Transformations | The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual
P S Y C H O A C T I V E
_____________________________
The “Middle Way” Memory Matrix Ritual
(Defining the Key and Playing The Fugue)
- “MIDDLE-WAY” refers to avoiding getting stuck in extremes of experience — or to getting unstuck. It doesn’t mean, adhering to a “center of moderation”.
- “MEMORY MATRIX” refers to the memory of related things charged with intention and refusal.
- “RITUAL” refers to a sequence of meaningful acts intended to generate a change of mind-state.
The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual is a procedure to free ourselves from the traps of specific kinds of very difficult, very sticky, very obscure conditioning.
The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual enables us to extricate ourselves and to escape from the influence of “strangely attractive” memories that shape our choices and our destiny without our understanding or even being aware of it. “Strangely attractive”, in this sense, refers to any experience that can captivate us, en-trance us, and entice, seduce, or guide us to a particular destiny.
This procedure works by comparing pairs of related experiences to each other, intending them and refusing them, in every possible combination. I know that sounds complicated. That’s why there’s a structured procedure to follow.
In the process, what has been obscure becomes obvious. What has been too subtle to distinguish becomes clear. What has been only fleetingly perceptible “holds still” for a good, solid look. That’s how it’s a “power contemplation” procedure.
The Pre-requisite for Doing The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual
YOU ARE FIT AND READY TO DO THIS PROCEDURE when you are proficient at practicing The Gold Key Release to a successful result.
Without that proficiency, you will lack the familiarity with the experience
of release needed for The Memory Matrix
Ritual to do its work. You need to be familiar with the experience of release and no longer confuse release with “acting out”, suppression or repression. (Any description of “release” must remain vague and inadequate until you have directly experienced it.) Everyone with whom I have guided The Gold Key Release has succeeded in one or a few passes through, so its not difficult — it’s just a pre-requisite.
“When an obstruction … is recognized, the way to overcome it is to throw the weight of the imagination to the opposite side”.
- intending to experience something and refusing to experience it
- an item and its counterpart (examples follow)
according to Lawrence Gold
The Result of the Procedure
- SELF-KNOWLEDGE: recognition of your deeper, unconscious motivations related to something that’s a problem, an “item-of-interest”, or “project”, for you
- FREEDOM: dissolving the grip of those (now-conscious) motivations to such an extent that either:
- the item-of-interest has no “charge” (substantiality) left (it has lost cohesiveness, and now has the substantiality of smoke) or
- you’re unable to remember what it was without great effort
Burn-Off
After doing The Memory Matrix Ritual thoroughly on a pair of items, you may experience a period of intensification later in the day in which the item or items re-appear and you feel helpless to do anything about it. This experience (which I have called, “burnoff”) is temporary and generally resolves in a day or two. The helplessness is a sign that you were heavily identified with a way of perceiving and operating, and now that it is dissolving, your sense of yourself as do-er, in that space of life, is also dissolving. This dissolution marks a shift in your way of operating that allows new possibilities and new responses on your part to emerge. You need not do anything about burn-off; it will pass.
