Your Psoas Muscles – Healthy and Unhealthy – And How to Get Them Healthy

Your Psoas Muscles — Healthy and Unhealthy — How to Get Your Psoas Muscles Healthy, Again

The psoas muscles are easy to understand when you consider the basic movements in which they are involved: sitting, standing, and walking — and how those movements are controlled: movement (muscle) memory.

This article explains healthy and unhealthy psoas muscle functioning and how to get your psoas muscles healthy, again.

What Your Psoas Muscles Do

When functioning right, your psoas muscles maintain your uprightness in sitting, your spinal alignment and balanced equilibrium when standing, and your efficiency of movement bending, twisting, walking and running. Your psoas muscles are core stabilizers that lend balance to movement.

Tight psoas muscles show up as groin pain, deep pelvic pain, and as a deep belly ache.

Postural effects include a butt that sticks out too much, in back, and a protruding belly, as pelvic position shifts top-forward.

Leg movement is restricted, in walking, in their freedom to move backward; tight hamstrings often develop to compensate for the extra drag.

Awkwardness and poor balance result. Chronic constipation also develops, in some people, due to the effect of an overactive psoas on the neighboring nerve plexus that regulates intestinal activity.

To Free Tight Psoas Muscles
Three basic approaches exist. One is much more effective than the others.

  1. stretching
  2. massage/manipulation
  3. movement training

First basic understanding: Muscle/movement memory controls your psoas muscles.

If your psoas muscles are tight, your muscle/movement memory keeps them that way. Muscle/movement memory comes from a deeper level of the nervous system than voluntary movement does; it’s conditioning that “runs the show”.

You can’t stretch or manipulate away conditioning; you can’t stretch or manipulate away muscle/movement memory. Because muscle/movement memory develops by conditioning, stretching and manipulation produce, at best, temporary and partial results.

The pattern of remembered movement and tension quickly returns. That understanding explains your experience with therapy for tight psoas muscles.

Since muscle/movement memory runs the show, you need an approach that re-conditions muscle/movement memory — and that’s where movement education comes in.

Movement education isn’t “knowing how to move” or “maintaining good posture”. It’s developing new patterns of coordination by actions that reach the depth at which movement/memory lives — the kind of movement memory involved in riding a bicycle, for example. How did you learn to ride a bicycle (or swim, for that matter)? Practice: development of new patterns of movement until they become habitual.

The development of new control and new movement involves not just freeing muscles, but
also integrating them into movement patterns with other movers and stabilizers of the body. Movement training also involves awakening our ability to sense the actions of our muscles in movement and balance.Without the integration step, your psoas muscles are likely to revert to their tight state. I’ll say more, as we go on.

Understanding how psoas muscles play in movement simplifies our approach to setting things right. Having made such a statement, I will, of course support it. But first, I have to lay some groundwork.

“PSOAS” OR “ILIOPSOAS”?

psoas and iliacus musclesThe psoas muscles share a tendon with the iliacus muscles, which line the inside of the pelvis, so the combination is called, the “iliopsoas” muscle. For brevity, I use the term, “psoas muscle”.

CORE MUSCLES
The psoas muscles are our deepest core muscles.

When people speak of the “core”, they usually mean the muscles of the abdominal wall. But how is that the “core”? The core of anything, such as the Earth or an apple, is its centermost part. The psoas is a core muscle (as are the diaphragm, quadratus lumborum, iliacus and other muscles closest to bone); the abdominal muscles are “sleeve”, outside
the core.

HOW PSOAS MUSCLES FUNCTION AS CORE MUSCLES
The psoas muscles, being most centrally located as the deepest muscles in the body, help control the shape of the spine. By controlling the shape of the spine, they control our balance — how the centers of gravity of our major segments – head, thorax (or chest), abdomen and legs – line up.

Tight psoas muscles distort the spinal curves, shorten the spine, change pelvic balance and cause ungainly (chunky, heavy, labored, awkward) movement. To the degree that the spinal curves are distorted, our alignment is distorted and to that degree, we are out of balance and our movement is un-economical/wasteful of effort.

THE PSOAS MUSCLES COORDINATE WITH OTHER MUSCLES THROUGH MOVEMENT (MUSCLE) MEMORY
Muscles never work alone; they always work in concert with other muscles. What
any muscle does affects our entire balance. Other muscles have to compensate for those effects on balance by tightening or relaxing. Your brain controls these entire patterns of movement and compensation with memories of movement (“muscle/movement memory”).

Because your nervous system and muscular system cooperate as a whole, to try to change the movement and tension behavior of tight psoas muscles without changing the larger movement pattern of which they are a part is to work against the rest of the system and its (our) memory of how movements go and feel. That’s why methods of muscle manipulation (e.g., massage, myofascial release, stretching) produce changes that are either temporary or slow in coming – and why psoas release by manipulation is painful: it works directly on sore, contracted psoas muscles against the conditioning of the entire movement system.

ACTIVITY AND REST: COORDINATION AND MUSCLE TONE
The term, “tone”, refers to the level of muscle tension: complete rest means zero  muscle tone; complete activation means maximum muscle tone.  Some people believe that the higher the tone, the better; others believe that complete relaxation is better. As you will see, where tone is concerned, it’s neither; better-integrated is better, and
better-integrated means more freedom to adjust accurately to changing conditions — freedom and balance.

Your brain coordinates the movements and tone of muscles; tone changes as position changes in movement. That’s what is meant by “supple.” Supple psoas muscles have the sensation of spaciousness, support, freedom and length at your body core. The term rolfers use is, “open core.” When psoas muscles do their job of stabilizing the spine, they relieve the abdominal wall muscles of some of that task; your abdominal muscles have the sensation of relaxation and free breathing. The term rolfers use is, “free sleeve.” Healthy psoas functioning gives the experience of “open core, free sleeve.” Open core/free sleeve is the feeling of trunk/spine length, flexibility and stability.

HEALTHY FUNCTION

“Healthy”, in this sense means, “getting the intended result with the least effort.” Where movement is concerned, the word, “graceful”, applies. Graceful movement is economical movement; awkward movement is uneconomical or ungainly movement. Graceful movement conserves effort; ungainly movement wastes effort. For movement to be economical, it must be well-balanced and well-coordinated — a matter of integration.

Psoas muscles help regulate our changes of position as we move from rest into activity and from activity into rest by changes in their tone. They help maintain our balance and stability in those positions. They are central to movements from lying to sitting, from sitting to standing, and from standing to walking and running. If their tone is too high, they interfere with balance and stability as we move into different positions; their tone is almost never too low, and if so, usually indicates either neurological damage or a need to learn basic control.

With changes of position, the activity level of your psoas muscles changes, as follows.

From Lying Down to Sitting to Standing to Walking and Running
At rest or in repose, your psoas muscles have no job to do and should be at rest — which means relaxed and comfortable.

Your psoas muscles connect your legs to your trunk. When you move from lying to sitting, they move your pelvis and provide a sufficiently stable core as you move to the upright position. Overly tight psoas muscles create groin pain or deep low back (lumbopelvic) pain when changing position from lying to sitting. You may have the experience of a groin pull or of muscles seizing up in your pelvis.

When Sitting

Your psoas muscles connect your groin to your pelvis and low back and stabilize your balance in the front-to-back direction; your brain adjuststheir tone for the right amount of front-to-back stability under the pull of gravity.

From Sitting to Standing

As you move from sitting to upright standing, your psoas muscles must relax and lengthen to permit you to stand fully upright.

Overly tight psoas muscles, which connect your groin to your spine, prevent you from coming to a fully erect, balanced stand.

When Standing

Your psoas muscles’ well-regulated tone is low enough to allow you to stand at your full stature, with minimal lumbar curve and high enough to stabilize your core. Through your psoas muscles, your brain adjusts your spinal curves (and balance) as you bend forward, lean back, move side-to-side, and twist and turn.

Overly tight psoas muscles don’t lengthen enough as you stand straight; they pull from your groin to your low back, causing lumbopelvic or lumbosacral pain, a “pubes back”
position, and excessive lower back curve. Your belly protrudes and your butt sticks out.

From Standing to Walking

As you step into walking, you first shift your weight onto one foot to free the other leg to come forward; the psoas muscles on the standing side relax and those on the walking side tighten to help you step forward. In healthy walking, your psoas muscles freely alternate, side-to-side, between higher and lower tone as you walk or run.

Overly tight psoas muscles shorten your stride and require your hamstrings and gluteus medius muscles to work harder to bring your “standing” leg back as you step forward. You end up with tight hamstrings and tight gluteus medius muscles (hip pain in back).

You can’t make a lasting change in one without changing the other because your brain maintains habitual patterns of movement among muscles (pattern of coordination); to change one so that it functions differently, you have to reorganize the entire pattern. That kind of change doesn’t occur “by deciding to move differently” or by stretching; when you’re walking, you can’t conveniently put that kind of attention into your movements; you have to make it automatic, and there’s a process for that, mentioned below.

SUMMARY
Efforts to free the psoas muscles without also improving their coordination with the rest of
the musculature produce only partial and temporary improvements.

That means that “psoas release” techniques, “psoas stretches”, and psoas strengthening approaches need movement education (which changes brain-conditioning of muscular control) to produce a stable shift to healthy psoas
functioning.

Economical movement (least effort, good result) and easy balance are the goal — attributes you can develop by movement training that first frees the psoas muscles and then integrates them into economical movement patterns. First free, then integrate.

The name for that kind of training process is, “clinical somatic education.”

for S I Joints | Centering the Sacrum 2015 10 13 Lawrence Gold

CONTACT: https://somatics.com/wordpress/contact/

S-I joint pain often comes, in part, from uneven stress on the pelvis from the legs and trunk. This exercise progressively corrects the problem, provided you’ve done the necessary preparatory work of freeing the muscles immediately above and below the pelvis, as described, below.

Sacral pain has multiple simultaneous causes. You do this exercise after low back muscles, hamstrings, and psoas/hip flexor muscles have regained suppleness and responsiveness.

It’s necessary to do this exercise to resolve sacro-iliac joint pain because an uncentered sacrum fits poorly with the rest of the pelvis and causes strain and pain at the S-I joints. Centering the sacrum removes the strain and seats the sacrum comfortably in position.

The QL lifts one side of the pelvis with each step of walking, in combination with the gluteus minimus and tensor fascia lata muscles (connected to the ilio-tibial/IT band) of the opposite side.

When the QL, low back muscles, psoas muscles, and hamstrings are all tight, S-I Joint Pain Syndrome results. more on S-I/sacroiliac joint pain: | http://lawrencegoldsomatics.blogspot.com/2011/04/understanding-sacro-iliac-joints.html

Injuries lead to the condition by triggering muscle tension. The term is, “Trauma Reflex”; in Trauma Reflex, we involuntarily/automatically tighten up and pull the injured place in to protect our integrity. A broken leg, knee injury, or sprained ankle can trigger it and it may persist indefinitely, unless corrected, due to altered muscle/movement memory (sensory-motor amnesia).

Somatic education exercises reverse the condition by correcting muscle/movement memory — best done after any injury has healed, so the pain of the original injury doesn’t re-trigger Trauma Reflex.

The QL (quadratus lumborum) muscles are closely related to the iliopsoas (liacus) muscles, as both muscles attach at the top border of the pelvis, in back (iliac crest).

What You Need to Do if You’ve Had Your Psoas Muscles Released

I’m going to make an assumption that, because you are reading this entry, you’ve had your psoas muscles worked on by a therapist and they’ve re-tightened. So, now you are looking for something more.

If you want to keep the relief of free psoas muscles, there’s something you need to do: integrate the change.

“Integrate the change” means bring the rest of your muscles into coordination with your free psoas muscles. To understand what that means, recognize that your entire way of moving has adapted to your tight psoas muscles (and the symptoms that accompany tight psoas muscles — groin pain, altered walking patterns, altered pelvic position and altered balance). That means you have muscle/movement memory in all of your other movements that is still fitted to having tight psoas muscles — muscle movement memory that will call the old pattern of having tight psoas muscles back into existence — unless changed.

someone who has experienced it, directly

Symotoms of tight psoas muscles:

  1. pelvic twist
  2. accentuated low back curve
  3. altered walking movements
  4. altered breathing
  5. altered rib cage shape

Freeing your psoas muscles alters that pattern somewhat, right away. But you need to address the rest of that pattern to create new muscle/movement memory, to “capture” your newly freed condition.  That’s how you keep the change — and it’s also why, “single muscle” releases don’t “take”.

You need to reinforce the new muscle/movement memory of your psoas muscles and all the muscles that work along with them.

The way to create new muscle/movement memory is to develop it deliberately through specific, natural movement patterns until they become second-nature (actually, first-nature). Then, they support your newly freed psoas muscles staying in their free condition.

Comforting Your S-I Joints | Sidelying Sacral Self-Decompression, from Unit 1 Lawrence Gold

This demonstration applies to someone with a left-side jammed S-I joint, and so you see the model lying on his right. If the right side were jammed, he’d be lying on the left side.

This action pattern prepares you for the exercises found in Unit 2 of Comfort Your S-I Joints by making it possible for the pelvic bones to adjust relative to each other.

With sacro-iliac joint problems, the first step to correction is to “unlock” the relationship of bones (sacrum and ilium/hip) held jammed my muscular contractions.

The second step is to induce changes of the spatial relationship (joint fit) of those bones through movements that use gravity and the weight of the leg and head to transmit force and sensation to the pelvis, where all forces meet.

This preparatory somatic education exercise accomplishes both aims and prepares you for the more effective somatic education exercises to improve joint fit that come later in the program/regimen.

TetraSeed Transformations | The Gold Key Release, week 6 | The TetraSeed Empowerment Procedure

This week:  The TetraSeed Empowerment Procedure

This “knock your socks-off” procedure depends upon your sufficient proficiency in The Gold Key Release. Without The Gold Key Release, you may be left attached to the outcome. For reasons explained below, such attachment is undesirable, unpleasant, and works against the intended outcome of the procedure, which is the freedom of empowerment — and the empowerment of freedom. This is not mere wordplay; feel each and feel how they complement (are not identical to) each other.

POINTS on EMPOWERMENT

  • eros
    • attractors of experience
    • imagination/emergence
  • obstructions:
    • misalignment of intention
    • distortions of or by memory

Memory — our sense of how things are and can be — is inherently binding and the attractive force of one moment becomes the binding force of the next, slowing or preventing new emergence — and leads to a sense of entrapment, rather than of freedom.

For that reason, an equal and opposite tendency — dissolution — must balance emergence and memory, for empowerment to continue. Otherwise, we become disempowered by the successes of the past by getting limited and stuck by them at some time in the future when we need to outgrow or exceed them.

Empowerment: the ability to direct our attention and exercise intention in service to imagination/eros by dissolving the binding force of memory (the way things have always gone) to make room for emergence (converting imagination/eros into actuality/memory).

EXERCISE: Remember a limiting memory by imagining and intending a more desirable situation.

The bigger the obstruction overcome or dissolved, the bigger the payoff.

EXERCISE: Remember a little obstruction overcome and remember the payoff. Remember a big obstruction overcome, remember the payoff.

The TetraSeed Empowerment Procedure
In this procedure, we will discover in ourselves the conditioning influences, the remembered but subconscious intentions, that run things from “behind the scenes” to keep us stuck, as they exist in your own case.

“Items” used in the procedure and the “attractor” of each:

  • honesty: ATTRACTOR: clarity
  • viability: ATTRACTOR: worthiness
  • responsibility: ATTRACTOR: competence
  • follow-through: ATTRACTOR: results

Let’s define terms, as I mean them:

Honesty: transparency of self-presentation and transparency of self, to self.

The opposite of honesty is deception. Deception leads to misinformed actions.

Viability: ability to live

When you plant a seed, its ability to sprout and bear fruit or living seed is its viability.

Responsibility: ability to respond, freedom

Responsibility isn’t burden; it’s working capacity. To assume responsibility is to “turn on” ones capacity to act. The burdensome sense of responsibility is responsibility impaired by limitations — remembered difficulties or interference by obstructing beliefs (bad expectations). If you have such obstructions, they get cleared up in this procedure — but first you feel them, on the way out.

Follow-through: carrying through to completion

People generally have trouble with one of three stages of action: starting things, carrying them through to completion, and moving on after getting completion. Trouble with any of those stages works against empowerment.

We use The Set-Up Procedure to set up each item.

  • attend to
  • imagine
  • intend
  • remember

The Gold Key Release overcomes the binding force of memory, the obstructions. So we use The Gold Key Release after each time we do The Spell-Maker (for each item) to clear the obstructions to the ATTRACTORS, and then again, at the end of the entire procedure, to clear the binding force of those four attractors, so that we have both the ability to create each item and freedom from each item.

(THE GOLD KEY RELEASE * 4) + 1

We will be going faster. What you need to have surface will surface quickly; it will be all too obvious. If it doesn’t surface in the time given, you don’t need to deal with it at this moment — and, due to the pacing, you will find emerging in you the strong impulse to self-knowledge.

The Tongue Mudra | “Bite Your Tongue” Variation Lawrence Gold

The Tongue Mudra is an extremely powerful technique for uncovering and relieving chronic, unconscious emotional states that color our lives.

The Bite Your Tongue variation of The Tongue Mudra is a more powerful form of the Tongue Mudra (power in its own right) that, when mastered (a brief period of time) prepares one for the even more powerful, Dragon’s Breath version of The Tongue Mudra.

“Mudra” means “seal” in Sanscrit and refers to positions that contain attention and “seal” the subtle sensory-circuitry into a contained vessel, conserving and recirculating what, in some circles, is called, vital energy — the vitality of attention and intention.

This position creates an internal connection and state of balance that stands in contrast to our habitual states of emotion, tension, and imbalance. That contrast permits us to perceive what is otherwise imperceptible in us.

The powerful effects of this technique depend upon following the instructions exactly as given and producing the exact sensations described. Half-hearted attempts that don’t enact the instructions don’t produce the result, so people who live their lives “trying” instead of “doing” will get the result they are accustomed to getting in their lives: failure. Direct words, but true.

To combine the Tongue Mudra with other somatic education exercises makes them more potent by including the part of ourselves that usually doesn’t get attention: our head. Usually, we are so busy in the thinking word-mind that we operate from it instead of paying attention to it. As a result, part of us is always outside, not participating. The Tongue Mudra changes that.

When the head is included, the change is more complete.

Test my words.

The Psycho-Active TetraSeed Transformations | Enhancing Intelligence

Developing into a “Neo-Post-Contemporary Human”?

A Neo-Post-Contemporary Human is someone fully capable of, but also capable of going beyond, both conventional (“standard operating procedure”) and unconventional (known “outside the box”) limitations of intelligence and ability — capable of going beyond the constraints of memory (“agape”) in actions of “eros” (imagination or the emergence of new-ness).

Why bother?

People’s sense of being stuck or limited in life has to do with the limitations of being a contemporary human.  As Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, “You can’t solve a problem from within the state of mind that created it,” — and that state of mind is the contemporary one. A neo-post-contemporary mind is one that is beyond the contemporary state of mind — and even beyond the next (“post-contemporary”) one developing, now.

How do you get to be like that?

First, uncover, discover and transform those limitations, in yourself. That frees you to find what’s beyond them; prior to that, you’re contained within them and can’t reach beyond them. Clear the way, first.

Then, you put your newly freed intelligence-potential into action. This is not a mental action involving the difficult effort of figuring things out with your memory of what’s been done and predictions of what’s possible: it’s an unreasoned, intentional action to bring into existence something new, out of the unknown unknown.  It feels like inspired action, “good ideas coming to you.”

The term I use is, “Intelligent Empowerment“.

Our free, pre-course session, on Wednesday, June 24th, 2015, was a total success.  Our first step was learn about and clarify our experience of The TetraSeed, which is a name I have given to the underpinnings of our sense of existence, which underpinnings exist as a set of four faculties without all of which we can neither experience anything nor act.

Those four faculties, which constitute The TetraSeed, are attention, imagination (or emergence of newness), intention, and memory.  I call the procedure we use to clarify our experience and knowledge of The TetraSeed’s components, which procedure is surprisingly brief and potent, The Set-Up.  The Set-Up is a way to sharpen your own intelligence (in a way that’s obvious and self-validating or self-authenticating).

In that same, pre-course session, I took people through The Gold Key Release, which is based upon The TetraSeed, and then taught a simplified version of The Spell-Maker, a procedure that enables you to create an intentional focus that leads to whichever kind of experience you intend, at the time that you are doing The Spell-Maker.

Results are telling. If you were present for our free, pre-course session, if you did  The Spell-Maker sufficiently well, you felt a shift in yourself in which you felt the quality of your desired experience as if it were presently happening.  If you did The Spell-Maker for a particular kind of experience and then it later happened or an uncharacteristic change occurred — and you remembered that you ran The Spell-Maker on that item, you’ll have suddenly recognized the causal relationship between The Spell-Maker and the experience and be tempted to test The Spell-Maker some more, with continued experimentation.

The TetraSeed Transformation Procedures seem to fall into three major clusters.
1. Basic learning of the TetraSeed, The Gold Key Release, and The Set-Up Procedures.
2. Cleaning up lifelong Traumas with The Trauma Dissolution Procedure and supporting procedures learned in cluster #1.
3.
Bringing better and better balance to life with The Middle-Way Memory
Matrix Ritual, a wisdom practice that dissolves the dilemma of the
chronic alternatives of pairs of different motivations, leading to a
deeper equanimity and, yes, spontaneous wisdom-intelligence.

Intelligent Empowerment 101

Our first course, Intelligent Empowerment 101, consists of seven twice-weekly sessions of about one hour, scheduled to start the third week of July (date to be announced – “TBA”).  One session will be to learn and practice each exercise and one session three days later, for feedback and Q&A.

In the first session, I will teach and you will practice The Set-Up, a potent awakening-and-transformation procedure in its own right. In The Set-Up, we will focus on each of the faculties of The TetraSeed, awakening and clarifying them. The felt-meanings (not just “word-meanings”) of the those faculties’ names — attention, imagination (or emergence of newness), intention, and memory — will become experientially obvious, to you.

Then, in subsequent sessions, I will teach and you will learn The Gold Key Release, a much more powerful procedure than The Set-Up (powerful in its own right).  I will work one-on-one with one or more individuals in the Google Hangout environment; others present will be able to run the procedure in their private settings.

In subsequent sessions of Intelligent Empowerment 101, we will apply The Gold Key Release to:

  1. attention
  2. imagination (newness or emergence)
  3. intention
  4. memory

I call applying The Gold Key Release to the underpinnings of The Gold Key Release,  “forging the basic tool.”
In our seventh session, everyone will work on an issue of their own choosing:  some area of life in which each feels stuck and wants to get unstuck. The Gold Key Release will “unstick” you.
That will get you started on working on and transforming stuck patterns in your own life and prepared for Intelligent Empowerment 102, the more free-form version of Intelligent Empowerment 101.

Intelligent Empowerment 102
Expanding Your Power Using The Gold Key Release

This eight-week “luminar” exists for you to apply The Gold Key Release to items or issues of your own choosing in a group setting similar to that of Intelligent Empowerment 101, with access to me for coaching and Q&A, live.

We will be choosing increasingly large-scale items to clear up.  The items you choose to address will fall into four categories:

  1. egocentric: having to do with your own personal wants and needs
  2. ethnocentric: having to do with the wants and needs of any specific group of which you are a part
  3. world-centric: having to do with issues affecting the whole world, at large
  4. kosmo-centric: having to do with the larger issues of life and the underpinnings of your existence

These sessions will get you used to addressing larger-scope issues on
your own.  You’ll practice on two items or issues at each level, for
experience. Each larger-scope level is more potent than the last in
producing changes in you that you feel, then and there. The larger-scope
levels require basic familiarity and at least beginning proficiency in the Gold Key Release 101, and so the pre-requisite.

I will provide a number of working suggestions which, as you implement The Gold Key Release at increasingly larger-scale levels, will enable to you to put The Gold Key Release to increasingly good use to clean up your own life and do world-service — and prepare you for the next module of training.

I will provide a number of techniques (including The Tongue Mudra) that, as you implement them, further enable to you to put The Gold Key Release to increasingly good use — and will prepare you for the next module of training, Intelligent Empowerment 1A, The Wish-Fulfilling Gem.

You need to be proficient in The Gold Key Release to do The Wish-Fulfilling Gem, so Intelligent Empowerment 101 is a pre-requisite for Intelligent Empowerment 1A.

Whereas The Gold-Key Release is a “liberation” procedure that provides relief and subliminally sets you up for spontaneous new behaviors in previously stuck situations, The Wish-Fulfilling Gem is a “transformative wisdom” procedure that reveals and removes multiple hidden interferences and puts you into a more balanced relationship to your desired outcome; it opens the way for more possibilities for fulfillment or satisfaction than you may have anticipated.  You’ll surprise yourself (from personal experience).

Intelligent Empowerment 1A

In Intelligent Empowerment 1A, I will teach and guide you through The Wish-Fulfilling Gem, a “transformative wisdom” procedure that does what the name implies — tempers wishes with self-validating wisdom, so that you are informed by wisdom, rather than merely being compelled by desire or need.  Read more about The Wish-Fulfilling Gem, here.

Intelligent Empowerment 1A consists of seven weeks of twice-weekly sessions of about one hour, scheduled to start two weeks after the end of Intelligent Empowerment 102.

In the first session, I will guide you through “forging your basic tool” — the four faculties of The TetraSeed.  There is increasing depth available in those faculties, as you will discover, so it’s worth revisiting The Set-Up and getting accustomed to using it, particularly before addressing difficult or more deeply entrenched issues.  Although not required, it is “helpful.”

Then, I will teach and you will practice The Wish-Fulfilling Gem.

You will apply The Wish-Fulfilling Gem to egocentric, ethnocentric, world-centric, and kosmo-centric scales of experience.

Those sessions will establish you in the ground of being of wisdom that will inform your application of The Wish-Fulfilling Gem for the future — not by limiting you, but by arming you with intuitive wisdom-understanding, freeing you from hidden limitations and biases that put a twist into your manifestation abilities.

In the later sessions, everyone will work on issues of their own choosing, areas of life in which each would like to open the way to certain experiences.

This part of the course will be an experiment to learn what may be the larger, unanticipated effects of introducing changes into the collectively-shared morphogenetic (“morphic” or “probability”) field in which we are all embedded and which forms the collective atmosphere for thought, emotion, and possibility.

Intelligent Empowerment 1B

In Intelligent Empowerment 1B, I will teach and guide you through The Spell-Maker (“The Phaser”) and The Spell-Breaker (“The Neutralizer”)(together, nicknamed, The Cyclotron because they cycle in opposite directions, relative to each other).

Intelligent Empowerment 1B consists of seven weeks of twice-weekly sessions (teaching/practice, feedback/Q&A) of one hour, scheduled to start two weeks after the end of Intelligent Empowerment 1A.

The Spell-Maker — in the ripened or more developed form taught here — is a very potent procedure for bringing us to a perception of how an experience would feel, if it happened and for setting the stage for it to happen.  In the process, we pass through everything that’s in the way (including unreadiness) and bring into maturity undeveloped intentions needed for the manifestation.

The Spell-Breaker is a potent procedure for dismantling or dissolving a “spell” activated in The Spell-Maker, should you decide it’s in your interest to do so.  It’s also useful for dissolving the effects of apparently “outside” influences upon you (e.g., people or emotions like shame).

In the first session, I will guide you through “forging your basic tool” — the four faculties of The TetraSeed.

Then, I will teach and you will practice The Spell-Breaker.

You will apply The Spell-Breaker to egocentric, ethnocentric, world-centric, and kosmo-centric scales of experience.

After some practice, to the point of having the experience of this procedure that I have described, I will teach and you will learn The Spell-Maker.

In the later sessions, everyone will work on issues of their own choosing, areas of life in which each would like to open the way to — or abort and dissolve — certain experiences.

This part of the course will be also an experiment to learn what larger effects we can introduce into the world-process through the collectively-shared morphogenetic (“morphic” or “probability”) field in which we are all embedded and which forms the “non-local”, collective atmosphere for thought, emotion, and possibility.

Intelligent Self-Empowerment
Level 2

As you get increasingly proficient, your next desire will probably be to simplify. Would you like to know some very brief, intuitive procedures for creating and dissolving experiences at a moment’s notice?

Those would be, The Thunderclap and The Lightning Bolt, short, short procedures for dissolving and for creating the TetraSeeds of experiences.

The same seven-week format applies as before.

As these procedures are very simple and brief, they require a degree of mastery to perform.  You will likely find them very handy, when you encounter sticky or difficult moments in the previous procedures, to keep things moving.  I use them for that purpose.

Intelligent Self-Empowerment
Level 3

In this seven-week module, I teach the “King Kong” of TetraSeed Modulations, The Middle-Way Memory-Matrix Ritual, which incorporates most of the preceding procedures, every time, and allows you to insert others into the procedure at your skillful discretion, as you see the need.

Larger scale, deeply entrenched, “story of my life” conditioning, or conditioning that just refuses to yield to the earlier procedures, typically has both a visible and an invisible component,  We identify with one side of the situation but have no clue how the other side applies to us.  You’ve got to handle both.

The Middle-Way Memory Matrix Ritual (or “The Memory-Matrix Ritual”) is a self-revelatory, self-liberating procedure that discloses the invisible, deeply-entrenched, and crusty components that may have been implanted in us by trauma, bad upbringing, or the general social insanity characteristic of this world, Earth. It allows you to re-write (or “edit”) “The Book of You”.

You want to transform major themes and far-reaching happenings of your life?  This is your tool.

We’ll be doing individual coaching and group coaching.

If you desire it, we can schedule private, one-on-one sessions.
